I have been using Grindr extra for years and for years the developers have yet to fix the random problem with chat messages cutting off and not displaying the full/complete message when on your iPad. All I hear is from the developers when I report the bug over and over again is that they are working on it. I have repeatedly brought this to their attention along with screen shots. The only work around that barely works is sending a reply back and hoping to hell that when you do that the person’s full message will appear. If I was a non paying member I would just file it my complaint under the heading “you get what you pay for” however, as a paying member it is ridiculous that this issue still hasn’t been fixed. There has to be some developer on staff that is smart enough to fix this issue. I know I am not the only one in the world using an iPad to access this app.

I have been using Grindr for years. (Paid version now, on iPhone). Works fine. Yeah, some spam accounts. Not a lot. Maybe depends on the city you live in. I am in a medium sized US city. No technical issues. (Ok, maybe a few small glitches once in a while ). Yeah, i see one user who keeps making a new account every day or so. He says it’s for privacy but that makes no sense. Have email/phone verification when creating a new acct. Make that an option — verified. (Some areas of the world might now want that for safety issues—so optional). Along with how long the person has been a member/had an account. Yeah, email accounts can be created for free.

Not only are the pop up adds ridiculous. Like every time you click on a profile or your message an ad pops up. Like really?? Not to mention that I had a pic get rejected even though everything was covered but a pic of me in very revealing underwear where you could see certain things, or the beginning of them, got approved. Oh and the very best part?? The fing spam bots!!!! I have seriously received like 20 of them in my inbox in the last two days alone. It is freaking ridiculous. This app is a complete fing joke when it comes to security and all that bs. Oh and the fact that it is the only app that you don’t get message notifications unless you pay for pro. Talk about money hungry. Like for real?? Being on the app all the time is too time consuming and drains your battery. So not worth the money for pro. There are a lot of better apps out there that offer the simple basics for free. Like NO SPAM BOTS, push notifications. Actually logging you off when you close the app. And appropriate profile pictures.

My profile has been incorrectly moderated multiple times. Apparently you’re not allowed to just show your chest. And apparently insisting on NO bareback is against the terms of service, yet people can seek methamphetamine all day. I’m ashamed that this company is enabling the destruction of the LGBTQ community through illicit drug use rather than fostering a healthy future. They could do so much better, yet would rather let people literally kill themselves than put the effort into improving their standards. Let alone Apple who has lost control of the App Store for allowing an app to slowly turn into a drug seeking medium. Response to Developer: I did. They simply said it was a mistake. Four times mistake. And then absolutely ignored my inquiry regarding the fact that Grindr does not moderate profiles seeking methamphetamine.

Grindr used to be a decent way to meet local guys. Now it’s nothing more than an irritating, intrusive ad server. There’s nothing more aggravating than having a game pop up when I’m trying to check out a guy‘s profile, and having to wait five seconds before I can clear the game/advertisement. It’s almost as if the developers want you to use somebody else’s app. Save your sanity and try any other app. In response to the Developer Response (below): You’re correct, I am frustrated with the endless, annoying pop-up ads that you continuously serve up. And now I’m even more annoyed that you want ME to take action by contacting your “help” team. I am not the problem. YOUR APP IS THE PROBLEM. Fix the annoyances and we’re all good.

Grindr is just a giant trashheap of sex addicted dirtbags looking to get a quick fix, with the application basically welcoming it, gay stereotypes and more. It spews out lewd and/or stereotypical adverts daily whenever you open it and even to your inbox with nonsense like 5 guys clad in nothing but underwear leading you to stupid blog posts, ads about AIDS, and then stupid seasonal sass like "Slay the Season" for fashion. Pretty sure there was a drag queen involved in one of the ads too. Then it has "tribes" which you can list out whether you are a "bear", "twink", and other tasteless "gay culture" terms. Great job for making homosexuality look even more segregated and alien instead of atleast trying to make it a decent application that does not revolve around sex and that stupid "culture".

The tap feature is so dumb and annoying. There should be an option to disable it. Most profiles, including mine, say not to tap so obviously people don’t like it. Also way too much spam and fake profiles. Those of us that pay for this app should not have to deal with that. Need better account verification system!!

I keep running out of favorites. I can delete all of my favorites and I still am being prompted to buy Grindr Xtra. No rhyme or reason.

1. Start making people verify their email addresses. This will ensure multiple accounts aren't being created. I had one user who I've blocked 5 or 6 times just keep deleting his profile and recreating it just to harass me. 2. Did the love of the Buddha, get rid of the taps. It works with some apps, like Planet Romeo, but 98% of profiles day something about 'no taps' or don't respond to taps or something along those lines. Bottom line, it has more of a negative affect and it's annoying to read these things over and over again. 3. Although I sadly pay for this app, I hate it. The free version is absolute rubish. Way too many ads, games, etc.

So I see they didn’t put my other review up. So I’ll try again. Grindr is very one-sided. Obviously someone is looking at who they will let break the rules and who they don’t. So I see slim fit hot body guys uploading collages as their main pic. Showing abs, underwear and any sexually suggestive images. Yet not brought down. I put up a similar collage four pics face and body shots with clothes on and they reject it. So unless you have abs and look good in some speedos don’t expect to get away with what those guys get away with. If they are super hot they allow sexually suggestive photos to be uploaded. I guess you have to do something to get people to want to download and stay on your app right. These jokers would never get my money and if I could put minus zero stars they be on the far end
